Welcome to Dope Travel

My favorite place to go is the airport. Like seriously….nothing beats people watching at the gate, watching the clouds out of my window, and seeing the view that God has shared.

Welcome to Dope Travel

where dope places and style meet

I started traveling… like seriously traveling maybe 5 years ago. As I went through my self discovery period I started by granting myself one vacation a year without my children to one place, I hadn’t been, for at least 4 days. My first trip was Barbados. And what a trip it was. Barbados is a wonderful island and Oistins is a MUST..if you can not get there on a Friday…no need in going. It is such a scene, such a vibe. And after that trip February travel just kind of became a tradition. From Barbados to Columbia and even San Fransisco, I was somewhere not to escape, but to explore. And then seemingly over night travel became this experience for me. I did a summer study with Harvard and stayed in Boston alone…. as I explored the city alone and discovered places that I liked, had drinks near graffiti alley, and navigated the subway daily…I realized I can do this. I can come and go and be apart of the world not just in my daily routine… Not just in February. And I can develop my style, wretch up my level of comfortability, try out things with clothing I wouldn’t normally while on these trips. So as I started packing, I started really styling myself as “who I wanted to be on this trip.” And boy has this thing kind of taken off.

The turning point for me in travel destinations really came from my first trip to Africa. I went to Ghana with a travel group I found on Facebook. I convinced my close friend to come with me and off we were to Africa with a group of complete strangers. I had never been on a flight that long or traveled that far. I had no idea how to get a visa or finding someplace to get shots. This was truly a learning experience and will always be one of my most memorable experiences. I also learned about taking advantage of a long layover. Which is how I do my February trips now. Using the long layover method I have been to Dubai, London, Paris, Greece, Johannesburg, and Egypt.

I’m so excited to share my travel experiences with you all. From how I pack, where I stay, and how I always find a dope pose to share. Thanks for taking the time to visit my site. Please comment, like, or share your thoughts from the contact page.
